Resort 2015: LOUIS VUITTON

The anticipation and excitement for Nicolas Ghesquière second collection at Louis Vuitton were quite high after his initial debut at the fashion house in March and he did not disappoint. The latest Louis Vuitton cruise collection was an embellished extension of his first collection. The modern day 60's inspired show began with subtle retro aspect of slightly flared trousers, suede A-line skirts, and deep plunge neck lines. Then the clothes bloomed into full flower power pant suits, psychedelic circle prints, and vibrant sunshine yellow.

Nicolas Ghesquière incorporated a "game of color" with baby blush pinks, deep pinks, sea blues, and bright yellows. When asked if Ghesquière was happy at Louis Vuitton, he replied, "I am. I'm inspired and I'm very happy," which is quite reflective in the color, detail, and prints in his resort collection. As emotionally devastating as the moment was when Marc Jacobs left the fashion house, it is clear that his successor, Nicolas Ghesquière, will keep the powerhouse striving and continuously reinventing.
