Sister-in-laws, Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard, started Veronica Beard in 2010 to fulfill a void in the market. They wanted to create a sportswear line that would allow women to add wearable pieces to their wardrobe. In the fall of 2010, they launched their brand with a modern version of the dickey jacket.
As CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists, Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard received guidance from industry legends Anna Wintour, Diane Von Furstenberg, Steven Kolb, and more. Even though they did not win the award, the experience and mentoring during the competition will help further develop the label.
Collection after collection, Veronica Beard will be a brand to seek out for elevated seasonal basics. Their fall 2014 collection infused bohemian with rock ’n’ roll, which was reflected with the batik-printed maxi dress and charmeuse gown. The must-have pieces of the collection were the camouflage jacquard coat and the black velvet jacquard pants.
