Haute Couture Spring 2014 Trends

Couture Tennis Shoes

Ever thought you would see tennis shoes on an haute couture runway? Both Chanel and Dior paired couture looks with sneakers instead of heels.

Chanel designed sequined, lace, and tweed sneakers with an estimated €3,000 price tag. With that high of a price, these shoes are meant more for a gala than a workout.

The beaded sneakers at Dior appear to be a comfortable alternative to heels. However, in my personal opinion, a beautiful evening gown deserves to be heightened by heels.

All in all, the sight of sneakers on the a high fashion runway makes me even more anxious about the up coming collaboration between Nike and Riccardo Tisci, Creative Director of Givenchy.

Here's a sneak peak at what's to come from Nike X Riccardo Tisci.
